Who is the LEPC?
The Director of the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management also serves as Chairman of the Skagit County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). The LEPC includes the fire service, law enforcement, emergency medical responders, volunteer personnel and industry.

What does the LEPC do?

The LEPC is required to complete a number of tasks, including:
1) establishment of rules;
2) public notice of activities;
3) establishing procedures for handling public requests for information;
4) preparing an emergency response plan.

What is the LEPC Emergency Response Plan?
The LEPC emergency response plan was developed for the protection of the citizens and emergency response personnel called to the scene of incidents that may threaten lives and property, as well as the environment.
